DIVIDE ET IMPERA

DIVIDE ET IMPERA

Functional silos – not surprisingly, they also call them “divisions” – often create senseless competitions, not oriented towards real shared objectives.

The traditional project management method, the “sequential” one, is opposed to the “multidisciplinary” method, which imposes an active involvement of all functions, including ad hoc meetings, from the beginning of the initiative.

The main obstacle to this approach is the implementation of a radical change in corporate culture and organization, which will have to learn to communicate effectively also any failures (HORROR! NEVER SAY THAT!), due to scientific, technological or other difficulties.

In fact, the periodic and systematic communication of what happens – positive and negative events – transmits to the property the ability to keep the processes under control, firmly, identifying and proposing possible solutions, not a sterile witch hunt (in a “divisional” perspective, indeed).

“Collaboration is worth, even in monetary terms, much more than competition”! Do you agree?
